Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how mc2inspections.com handles information when you visit. The short version is that the site is built to hold as little about you as a website can: it is a set of static HTML files, it sets no cookies of its own, it runs no advertising, it carries no analytics or tracking at the time of writing, it has no accounts and no mailing list, and its one form transmits nothing to any server.

Information we collect

We do not ask you to register, log in, or submit personal information in order to read anything here. There is no account system, because there is nothing to have an account for. There is no booking form, no quote request, no availability check and no lead capture of any kind, because the site provides no services and has nothing to sell you. We do not maintain a mailing list and we send no marketing email.

Cookies, advertising and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no advertising network, no retargeting pixel and no third-party advertising script. At the time of writing it carries no analytics or tracking of any kind — no page-view counter, no session recorder, no heatmap, no tag manager. Nothing on these pages is attempting to work out who you are or to follow you to another site.

If that ever changes — if an analytics tool is added to understand which pages are read — this page is updated first, before the tool goes live, naming what was added and what it records. A privacy page that describes a site as it used to be is worse than no privacy page, because it is believed.

Server logs

Static files are still served by a web server, and the hosting provider records standard server logs. Those logs typically contain the requesting IP address, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the referring page where the browser sends one, and the user agent string. They are generated and retained by the host as part of operating the server, and they exist for operational and security purposes: diagnosing errors, identifying broken links, and recognizing abusive or automated traffic. They are not combined with anything else, not used to build a profile of a reader, and not shared with anyone for marketing.

The contact form specifically

The form on the contact page has no action and no method, which is the technical way of saying it submits to nowhere. When you press the button, your browser takes the text you typed, assembles it into a pre-addressed message, and hands that message to whatever email application your device is configured to use. The message is then yours — to send, to edit, or to discard. No field value is transmitted to this website, written to a server, stored in a database or passed to a third party, because there is no endpoint on our side to receive it.

If your device has no email application configured, the button will appear to do nothing. The address is printed on the contact page in plain text for exactly that reason. Anything you then choose to send by email arrives in an ordinary mailbox and is used only to reply to you and, where relevant, to correct the site. Correspondents are not added to any list, because there is no list.

What we deliberately do not do

Several kinds of data collection that are routine on sites about this subject do not happen here at all, and being explicit about them is more useful than a general assurance.

  • We do not run a scheduling, booking or availability form, and we hold no record of any property, appointment or inspection.
  • We do not run a quote engine, a cost calculator or a "match me with an inspector" tool, and we capture no address, phone number, property details or transaction dates.
  • We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise pass reader information to inspection companies, franchises, contractors, lead brokers, real estate professionals, insurers or data aggregators. There is nothing to pass on, and there is no arrangement under which it could happen.
  • We do not operate accounts, store credentials, or process payments of any kind.

If you receive a call, a text or an email from an inspection company after reading this site, it did not come from us and nobody got your details here.

Third-party links

These pages link out to statutes, state administrative codes, licensing boards, federal agencies, standards bodies and published forms, so that a reader can check what we say against the document itself. Those sites have their own privacy practices and their own logging, and we have no control over and no responsibility for either. A link from here is a citation, not an endorsement.

Your choices

You can read this site with cookies disabled, with JavaScript disabled, or behind a tracker-blocking extension, and every page will render and work normally. The only JavaScript on the site operates the mobile navigation menu and the contact page's email composer. Because we hold no personal information about you, a request to access, correct or delete personal data will usually have nothing to act on — but if you believe otherwise, write and we will look into it.

Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Because the site builds no profiles and shares no reader information with anyone, there is nothing for a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We honor them in the only sense that applies here: we were not doing the thing they ask us to stop doing.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Given that we collect nothing from anyone, this is less a policy than a statement of fact.

Data location and security

This is a static website: plain HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript, served from a web host. There is no application server, no user database, no login system and no payment processing, which removes most of the ways a site of this kind leaks information. Pages are served over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, but the total reader information exposed by a breach here would be the server logs described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes are reflected on this page rather than announced individually, since we hold no contact details with which to announce them, and — to repeat the commitment above, because it is the one that matters — if any analytics, advertising or tracking is ever added to this site, this page is updated before it goes live.
