Company News
October 2008 What’s in a name? Mike Chamberlain, MICP (317) 605-3432 mc2inspections@yahoo.com Mike Chamberlain has owned and operated Plainfield-based MC² Home Inspections for a year now, and admits the name of his company would never be if it weren’t for “Little 2.” Why MC² Home Inspections? The MC² began as a nickname that friends gave to my wife and I back when we first met a couple of years ago. Her name is Melody; my name is Mike and the last name of Chamberlain completed the MC². I started my home inspection business last October and when it came time to come up with a name for the company, MC² was at the top of the list. It also made it relatively easy to come up with the logo and slogan for the company. Putting a spin on Einstein’s theory of relativity, I came up with the company slogan “Peace of mind = MC²”, and of course the logo with Einstein looking through the magnifying glass ensuring your peace of mind. The name and logo have really taken off and people really seem to embrace the whole concept behind it. Of course, let us not forget that I could not be MC² without my wonderful wife, who is affectionately known as the “Little 2.” How has your company’s name helped your business? Compiled by Rick Myers, Hendricks County Business Leader

MC² Home Inspections
Over and over my clients and real estate agents alike tell me that they love the name MC² Home Inspections. They tell me that it is easy to remember and that it has a certain “ring” to it. Also they tell me that it is unique. Most home inspectors use their own name in their company name, like Johnson’s home inspections. So, you bet, the name has most definitely helped my business. To me it is so much more than a name. After all, it is who I am.
